Class Registration Updates

Registration is open for adult spring classes and children's summer camps at Glen Echo.

CULKIN ADULTS: Register HERE for the 3rd Quarter of Classes. Classes begin February 13, so please SIGN UP NOW!
CULKIN ADULTS: Register HERE for the 4th Quarter of Classes. Classes begin April 16.
SUMMER CAMPS: Four Summer Camp sessions begin July 9th. Register HERE for Summer Camps for children ages 6 and up.

Reminder to all St. Paul's/Kensington Dancers for today: St Paul's Hall is not available to us today, so all classes usually held there will be held today at Hughes UMC in basement. Class times do not change. The address for Hughes UMC is 10700 Georgia Avenue (At Georgia Ave & Plyers Mill Rd)

Just a reminder - Culkin School follows Montgomery County Public Schools for emergency and weather closings. If Montgomery County cancels school or extracurricular activity, we cancel classes as well.

A HUGE congratulations to Mattie A for winning her final 1st place in her Prizewinner Reel at Feis na Blian Nua (Kerry Kelly Oster Feis) today. She is our newest Preliminary Championship Dancer! Way to go Mattie!

Second Tuition Payment Due

Families who opted for the 3-payment plan for tuition are reminded the second payment is due January 10. Payments can be placed in the envelopes at class, or mailed to The Culkin School, PO Box 1866, Silver Spring MD, 20915. This weekend was SO exciting for the Culkin School! We had 30 dancers compete; all of whom made us proud! Congratulations to the 11 dancers who qualified for the North American Championships AND the 8 dancers who qualified for the World Championships! Another HUGE shout out to Simone L, who won the U9 Competition. We are so proud of everyone! Also, thank you to our teams! We had at least 6 teams on the podium (TOP 5!!) Woohoo!

Oireachtas Weekend 12/2-5/11

The Culkin School will be well represented at our regional championsips this weekend in Orlando, with 30 solo dancers and a big group of teams (including adult teams) heading down to compete. There will be no classes on Saturday, 12/3 not Monday 12/5 as our staff is with these competitors. Good luck Team Culkin!

Schedule Changes the week of October 10

Hi all- a few reminders about this week's schedule:

MONDAY - classes WILL be held - even though it is a holiday for some.
TUESDAY - no changes
WEDNESDAY - NO CLASSES at Hughes due to their annual fall rummage sale. This was posted on our "Important Dates Form" distributed at the start of the year
THURSDAY - No change for the St Paul's dancers, classes as usual. Hughes classes will be held at the Glen Echo Park Bumper Car Pavillion (see email from Nicki; this is a change from the Important Dates Form information)
SATURDAY - No change for the Rockville dancers, classes as usual Hughes classes will be held at Glen Echo Park's Annex (see email from Nicki)

Irish Seams at The Dress Exchange This Weekend!

Irish Seams will be available at the Culkin School Dress Exchange on 8 Oct between 10am & 2pm to assist with new costume orders and alterations. We will also be available to advise on the suitability/alterabilty of used dresses available at the Dress Exchange.

Irish Seams will also be available for fitting appointments for dresses, vests, beginner costumes, track suits and alterations at their location (13401 Tangier Place, Rockville, MD 20853) on the following dates from 4pm until 8pm:

Friday, Oct 14th (4-8pm)
Tuesday, Oct 18th (4-8pm)
Monday, Oct 24th (4-8pm)

If you are interested, or have any further questions, please contact Irish Seams at irishseams@hotmail.com or 240-997-4583 to schedule an appointment.

Each fitting takes approximately 20 minutes to accomplish the neccessary measurements. The dancer should wear clothes similar to the clothing they would wear under the dress/vest at feis or performance. Their hair should also be in a bun or put up to allow clear access to the neck.

TRACK SUIT Alert: The last date to order a track suit for O's is 18 October. The last date to order track suits for the holidays is 4 November. The price is the same as last year: $100.00 for the track suit & $75.00 for the jacket only. The fitting set and order forms will be available at the Dress Exchange and the Irish Seams "Open House" fitting dates.
